Ariana Grande’s voting PSA may have inadvertently caused a voter registration site to crash.

Earlier this week, the “7 Rings” singer decided to raise awareness on the urgency of voting by sharing a social media post encouraging “fellow Floridians” to hit the polls before the Monday deadline (October 5).

“If you haven’t yet or if you know of a friend or family member that hasn’t, it’s imperative that you make sure they register today because Florida has the potential of swaying the election,” Grande tweeted with a link directing fans to HeadCount, a non-partisan organization that uses the power of music to register voters and promote participation in democracy.

It seemed to do the trick, as Ari’s post reached hundreds of thousands of followers across Twitter and Instagram.

More surprisingly, though, various Florida outlets reported that the musician — who was born in Boca Raton, Florida — may have caused the website to temporarily crash due to an “unprecedented” surge in traffic, causing glitches and errors for many users attempting to complete registrations.

Joining others on social media, Grande urged Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to extend registrations due to the malfunction. (Laurel Lee, Florida secretary of state, ultimately extended the deadline until the following day.)

On Tuesday, the “NASA” singer doubled down on her previous statement, and hinted that she would drop new music if followers complete their registrations and vote early. “Turning in these mixes and reminding u again to register to vote if u haven’t already / to vote early,” the 27-year-old teased the next day with a photo of her with musical instruments in the background.
