Fortunately, Google has compiled a list of the most popular Halloween costumes in cities across the country. As it turns out, the costume most searched for in Raleigh-Durham is a clown.

According to Google Trends, clowns are the fifth most popular Halloween costumes nationwide. It is searched for most in New York City, but Raleigh-Durham comes in second. Salt Lake City, Green Bay, and Los Angeles round out the top five cities that love dressing as clowns.

So if you want a costume that is sure to kill, channel your inner Pennywise (minus the evil) or Ronald McDonald (minus the fries) and find a clown costume to fit your mood. If you're looking for a costume a little less popular in your area, Google has you covered too. Nearby cities' most searched for costumes include a witch, Medusa, Beetlejuice, and Morticia Addams.
