The 14-year-old son of two telenovela stars was airlifted to a hospital after a golf cart accident in Weston on Sunday (October 4), Local 10 reported Thursday (October 8). Christopher Levy, the son of William Levy and Elizabeth Guiterrez, was driving a golf cart with two female teenagers as passengers, according to Broward Sheriff's Office deputies.
Investigators said Christopher turned too fast, which caused the cart to flip over near Lake Ridge Lane around 2:15 p.m. Christopher was pinned underneath the cart, and the girls, one 13 and the other 14, were thrown off the cart, according to officials.
“Why did I do this? Why did I do this? ... My parents are going to be so mad at me," someone said on a 911. Officials have not confirmed if was the voice of Levy or not. “We’re on the road, we flipped a golf cart,” the person said to the dispatcher. Deputies said the boy suffered "major injuries to his knees" and had to be airlifted to the hospital. The female teens were rushed to local hospitals, they added.
Marcel Castaneda said he spoke with Christopher the night of the accident. Castaneda is one of Christopher's baseball coaches at American Heritage School.
“He’s very sad for what happened. He’s very worried about coming back to school — coming back to the baseball field. They’re kids, and I’m sure we’re going to have time in the future to talk about it. Right now, it’s more support. We’re just praying right now, a lot, for his quick recovery," the coach said.
