As previously announced, BLACKPINK teamed up with Netflix for their own documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, and the upcoming film has dropped its first trailer ahead of the Wednesday (October 14) premiere.

Directed by Caroline Suh, the documentary sees Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa open up about their journey as the highest-charting female Korean group of all-time. As we can see from the two-minute trailer, the recipe for their worldwide domination included their appropriately titled debut album, The Album, 2019 Coachella performance and, ultimately, their sisterhood. At one point in the trailer, the collective touches on their girl group training with management company YG Entertainment. "I'd ask myself, ' Do you want to give up because it's not easy?" Jisoo says in Korean, before Rosé adds, "We grew into something that we didn't even know was possible."

"As Blackpink continues reaching new heights in their career — from headlining sold-out world tours to becoming the first female Korean group to perform at Coachella — each member reflects on the ups and downs of fame and the long, often challenging journey that brought them to worldwide success," a statement on the documentary read.

Light Up the Sky comes on the heels of The Album's release, which features collaborations with Selena Gomez and Cardi B.
