A woman in Plano, Texas, is suing Brad Pitt for $100,000, but the actor's lawyers say she was scammed by someone online pretending to be the movie star.

Kelli Christina, a health care CEO, claims she paid Pitt $40,000 in 2018 to make five appearances at events she organized for the actor's charity, the Make It Right Foundation. The foundation built homes in New Orleans for people who lost theirs during Hurricane Katrina, but many of the homes have construction problems.

Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail state that Pitt never showed up for any of the events despite Christina paying him in advance for his appearances. Pitt always canceled at the last minute but said he'd show up next time.

In the lawsuit, Christina also claims that her and Pitt were falling for each and that there was even talk of marriage. The romance and Pitt disappeared once Christina stopped paying for appearances.

Lawyers for the real Brad Pitt want the suit tossed because the actor never talked to Christina.

“Rather, as (Christina) herself has acknowledged, it appears (Christina’s) communications about any agreement were apparently with one or more individuals unlawfully posing as — but not in any way affiliated with — defendants online," according to the motion to dismiss.

“By (Christina’s) own admissions, the communications she now alleges to have had with Mr. Pitt ... were actually between Plaintiff and one or more individuals posing as, in Plaintiff’s words, ‘fake Brad Pitts’ and not in any way affiliated with the Make It Right Foundation.”

Christina told the New York Post "I wouldn’t expect this lawsuit to go away easily" and that she'll continue to fight Pitt and his foundation.
