Las Olas Art Festival Returns This Weekend With Social Distancing Rules

The 33rd Annual Last Olas Art Festival will have a a new "socially-distance art experience" when it returns this weekend in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, NBC Miami reported. Howard Alan Events, the festival's organizers, announced the free event will host both local and national artists with enhanced safety measures. Not only do visitors experience fine art and jewelry at the Las Olas Art Festival, but they get to interact directly with the artists and creators.
As the coronavirus pandemic affects events from fairs to galleries, outdoor events are becoming a more popular options due to spacing. According to the festival's website, there will be one-way traffic and guests will be asked to wear a mask; the only exception is for children two year old or under. Guests also need to reserve a time slot online. Social distancing is required between artists, patrons and patron groups. The event will happen Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some South Florida events and attractions have been planning a return recently during the pandemic, such as the Fort Lauderdale Air Show in November and Knaus Berry Farm's announced reopening later this month.
