Tom Parker, the British singer of the boy band The Wanted, has revealed he has an inoperable brain tumor.

Parker, 32, who announced earlier this year that he and his wife are expecting their second child together, took to social media Monday morning (October 12) to share the devastating news.

"We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way,” Parker wrote in an Instagram post. “We don't want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options."

In an interview with OK! Magazine, the “Glad You Came” crooner shared that he has a grade four glioblastoma tumor. Doctors described the terminal tumor as a “worst-case scenario.” According to The Brain Tumor Charity, the average survival time for those with a glioblastoma tumor is between a year and 18 months.

Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why. There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment. We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way. We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options. It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx @ok_mag

Parker learned of his diagnosis during a hospital visit after suffering two seizures this summer.

"They pulled the curtain around my bed and said, ‘It's a brain tumor.’ All I could think was, ‘F—g hell!' I was in shock,” he told the publication. “It's stage four glioblastoma and they've said it's terminal. It was a lot to deal with by myself. I still haven't processed it."

Parker and his band, which formed in 2009, reached mainstream success in the United States with their 2012 breakout hit “Glad You Came,” following the single with catchy songs like “Chasing the Sun” and “I Found You.” Since announcing their indefinite hiatus in 2014, the British-Irish band has been certified for 600,000 albums and 2 million singles sold in the United Kingdom.
