Some cities have seen rapid economic growth and long-term prosperity this year.

Wallethub released a study of the fastest-growing cities in America, and three Dallas-area cities landed in the top 30. The site compared 515 cities of varying population sizes based on 17 key measures of both growth and decline.

The website states, "The South and West currently seem to be attractive places to move, as the U.S. Census Bureau reports eight of the 15 cities with the largest population gains between 2010 and 2019 were located in the South and five were in the West."

Frisco, McKinney, and Richardson all found themselves in top spots.

Frisco was ranked number six with an overall score of 71.54. It also ranked second in sociodemographics and number 241 in jobs and economy.

McKinney wasn't far behind at number 11 with an overall score of 69.04. The city ranked number eight in sociodemographics and number 188 in jobs and economy.

Richardson rounded out the top 30 with a score of 63.54. It ranked number 25 in sociodemographics and number 148 in jobs and economy.

To determine the list, Wallethub compared 17 metrics in two different categories. These metrics included population growth, growth in share of college-educated population, job growth, unemployment rate decrease, increase in number of businesses, and foreclosure rate decrease, among others.
