A Texas resident from Sequin had a stroke of luck and is now nearly $40 million richer.

The resident claimed the $47 million Lotto Texas Jackpot, and has asked to remain anonymous at this time.

The winner chose the cash option for the prize which gave them $39,767,339.23.

The winning ticket matched all six of the numbers that were drawn. The winning numbers were 4, 11, 16, 19, 27, and 30.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Pic N Pac 10 which is located at 109 Highway 123 N. Bypass in Seguin.

The winning prize began as a $5 million estimated jackpot at the beginning of the year on January 18th. Since then it has rolled a record 73 times before it was won by the Seguin resident.

This win was the second-largest lottery prize in the world at the time of the drawing. It was the largest Lotto Texas prize since May 39, 2020 when the jackpot was $97 million.

Earlier this month, four Texans became lottery winners on the same night last week on October 8th. Together, they won a total of $1.55 million. The four people were from Kerrville, Grapevine, Cedar Park, and Houston.
