A woman from Texas died on on an airplane Arizona in July, but it only recently came out that she had coronavirus.
The woman hasn't been identified because of privacy concerns, but she was in her 30s and from Garland, a Dallas suburb. She also had underlying health conditions. The plane was on the tarmac awaiting take off when the woman died on July 25.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins released what little is known about the woman on Sunday, October 18.
"We don't know a whole lot. We may not know if she was aware she was sick. Contact took place in Arizona," Jenkins told WFAA.
Dallas County knew that a Texan died while on a plane from Arizona since August, but officials only recently learned that the woman was positive for COVID-19.
The woman was ill and having issues breathing while aboard the plane, Jenkins said. She was given oxygen but still passed.
The judge said that he didn't know what Arizona city she flew from or what airline she was on.
At end of July, there were 420,946 reported coronavirus cases in Texas and 170,798 in Arizona.
As of October 18, there have been 823,779 reported coronavirus cases and 17,014 deaths in Texas. There have been 226,681 reported cases in Arizona and 5,544 deaths.
