Election Day is approaching quickly and some residents still have questions.
Here is everything you need to know about voting in Dallas.
Are you registered?
You can quickly check online to see if you are currently registered to vote. Do so by clicking here.
The deadline for registration was October 5th.
Can I vote by mail?
In order to vote by mail in the state of Texas, residents must meet these requirements:
- 65 years or older
- disabled
- out of the county on Election Day and early voting
- confined in jail
If you are eligible to vote by mail, you must complete and deliver an application for a ballot by mail to your county elections office. Local election officials must receive the applications by October 23rd.
The ballots must be postmarked by 7 pm on Election Day and be received by 5 pm on the following day in order to be counted.
What do I bring with my when I vote?
In order to vote, residents must make sure they have a valid photo ID which can include:
- Texas driver's license
- Texas election ID certificate
- Texas personal ID card
- Texas handgun license
- US military ID with photo
- US citizenship certificate with photo
- US passport
When do I vote?
Voters can cast a ballot at any early voting location in their county during early voting. Early voting lasts until October 30th.
Election Day is November 3rd. Polling places will be open across Texas on this day from 7 am to 7 pm.
Where do I vote?
Each resident has a specific precinct he/she must vote at on Election Day.
