It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

While most people are gearing up for Halloween, ’tis the season for Clevelanders to take a refreshing sip of Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s Christmas Ale.

Boasting “fresh honey, cinnamon, and ginger flavors,” the Christmas Ale remains a seasonal staple after nearly three decades.

And for a limited time, beer drinkers can (responsibly) enjoy it from a can. It’ll be the first time Christmas Ale is available in cans — which Sam Hadley illustrated — since its 1992 debut, according to a Great Lakes Brewing Co. news release.

Still, the “Christmas Ale spirit” has been as strong as ever.

“It may have been socially distant and a little less crowded, but the Christmas Ale spirit was alive and well today at the brewpub,” Great Lakes Brewing Co. stated Thursday of the reservation-only event. “We’d like to thank everyone that put on their ugliest sweaters (and jolliest masks) and joined us for a #FirstPour unlike any other. You may not have been able to see it, but you brought a smile to us all.”

Christmas Ale is on tap at the brewpub, and Friday (October 23), it will be available in cans, bottles and kegs at the gift shop, according to Great Lakes. Customers can find it from retail distributors starting Monday (October 26). It’ll be available in 12 packs of 12-ounce cans and 6- and 12-pack bottles.
