A new book honoring the legacy of Aaliyah is coming next year.

According to Billboard, Baby Girl: Better Knows As Aaliyah is due out August 17, 2021.

The press release for the book revealed it "will focus on the span of Aaliyah's life and career -- from her earliest beginnings singing in Detroit all the way through to her game-changing musical era with Timbaland, Missy Elliott, and the late Static Major."

"The book also includes a deep dive into her tumultuously abusive entanglement with R. Kelly and an intense investigation on the crash that ended her life."

Fans of the "Rock The Boat" singer can expect exclusive interviews, never before told stories and more. You can pre-order the book here.

Like so many of you, I remember exactly where I was when I learned that Aaliyah was killed. It’s one of those moments that has stuck with me forever, and through my writing career I have written about Baby Girl a lot—I guess to fill the void of never getting to interview her. Today, I am so honored to unveil the cover of my book Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah and announce that preorders are officially live on Amazon. I don’t mean to hype myself up here, but YOU ARE NOT READY FOR WHAT THIS BOOK BEHOLDS. The release date has been moved up a week too, to August 17, 2021. This is because the fans wanted it to be. Fans like me. Fans like you. So thank you to everyone who participated, my Team Aaliyah, Aaliyah Army, Aaliyah’s Angels, all of y’all who are going SO hard for this book. This book is for us. And for her. /.\ Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah, coming August 17, 2021 via Atria Books / Simon & Schuster.
