There are many organizations across the Dallas area that are offering free rides to the polls to help more people cast their vote.

Hope and Opportunity America Initiative is one of those organizations. Dallas resident Charlie Sanders said that he was sick and barely able to walk, but he was still determined to vote. Hope an Opportunity arranged a free ride for him to and from polling location, helping him achieve his goal.

Hope and Opportunity's leader Teresa Tumminia told WFAA, "I felt privileged to be able to get him to the polls.
This organization works more like a free two-way Uber for voting, rather than simply picking voters up at a gathering place and driving them to the polls.

Another organization offering rides is For Oak Cliff, a community-building organization that operates a storefront in South Marsalis Avenue.

This group will be offering free rides on Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 3rd.

Sixteen volunteers gathered on Saturday with the mission of picking up voters to take them to the polls and return them home.

Volunteer Jessica Trevizos said, "I think of people like my mom, who doesn't drive. I know that if it wasn't for her children taking her, and taking the initiative to give her a ride, she might not vote."

Tumminia says that her organization intends to educate voters about the challenges to cast ballots in Texas in the future. For now, however, it's all about getting voters to the polls.
