Whitney Houston Makes History With 3rd Diamond Album

Whitney Houston is a legendary artist for a reason.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the late-great singer has earned her third diamond-certified album, becoming the first Black artist to achieve that milestone.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that Houston’s 1987 sophomore album, Whitney had reached diamond status, equivalent to selling 10 million albums. Whitney featured five Billboard Top 100 songs and “Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” “So Emotional,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody" would hit number one, which lead her to become the first female recording artist to do so.
This news comes as the RnB vocalist is set to be induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which will air on HBO and HBO Max next week on November 7 at 8 p.m ET.
