A Cranston, Rhode Island man is responsible for one of the most impressive Halloweeen displays in the country.
Tim Perry told NBC 10 News he's been "carving pumpkins for maybe 15 years," and currently has 500 jack-o-lanterns outside his Elm Drive home for all to see.
“They are craft pumpkins, so I can save them and add more every year,” Perry told NBC 10 News.
Perry's 500th jack-o-lantern featured a carved depiction of one of his rock stars, Rob Zombie, who has also directed several horror films.
“I painted it gold in celebration of number 500,” Perry told NBC 10 News.
Perry's pumpkin display features several themes, including a stage dedicated to musicians who have since passed on including Eddie Van Halen, who died earlier this month after battling cancer, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Prince, Freddie Mercury, and others.
He also has an area featuring pumpkins with carved depictions of living rock stars including Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osboune, Slash and Billy Joe Armstrong.
Perry has also added a COVID-19 jack-o-lantern to his jack-o-lantern display, which also features classic Halloween-themed carvings of demons, clowns and zombies, as well as popular horror movies and Halloween classics such as 'It' and 'Hocus Pocus.'
“People love to pick out people they recognize,” Perry told NBC 10 News.
Perry carved each of the 500 pumpkins himself and said they are made of polyurethane foam, noting that they are not intended for outdoor use but have never created an issue. He also said he takes about two weeks to complete the setup of the display and is usually done by the second week of October.
