The new Biden-Harris campaign ad urging voter participation is set to Eminem’s signature 2002 song “Lose Yourself,” marking the first time in his career that the Detroit rapper has lent a song to a political candidate.

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden’s 45-second ad, called “One Opportunity,” released online Monday morning (November 2), the day before Election Day. It includes shots of Detroit — including Biden’s recent stop at the Michigan State Fairgrounds — and other cities across the country, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.

Eminem tweeted the black-and-white campaign ad Monday, with one simple message:

“One opportunity… #Vote,” he said.

Although Eminem, of Detroit, has expressed political leanings at other points during his career, this is the first time he’s licensed a song to a candidate, which shows support of former Vice President Biden’s campaign with Sen. Kamala Harris, the Free Press noted.

Any absentee voters who haven’t sent in their ballots yet should return them in person rather than sending them by mail, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said last month, warning of potential postal delays. Any ballots received after 8 p.m. Tuesday (November 3) can’t be counted.

Michigan voters can still request absentee ballots through today, and can register to vote through tomorrow.

Michigan election officials are encouraging “everyone to please be patient,” preparing for ballot-counting to take longer than usual.
