Meghan Markle will make history on Tuesday (November 3). The Duchess of Sussex will be the first member of the Royal Family to cast a vote in a U.S. presidential election.

A source close to Meghan told People that the Duchess “is voting in this election," however, it's unknown whether she opted to vote early via mail or election box or if she chose to vote in person on election day. Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, have “taken a keen interest in this election and I’m sure they are eagerly awaiting the outcome," a friend of the couple added.

For those who have been following Meghan's post-royal life, it will come as no surprise that the Duchess of Sussex is voting in this election. Over the past few months, the Duchess has spoken about how important is it for everybody to get out there and cast their ballot. During her appearance on the Time100 TV special back in September, Meghan said: "Every four years, we're told, 'This is the most important election of our lifetime.' But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard."

The Duchess has also spoken about how important is for women, in particular, to vote. "People forget how hard women like you and so many others before you fought for us to just be where we are right now," Meghan told feminist activist Gloria Steinem in a backyard chat. "If you don't vote, you don't exist," Steinem replied. "It is the only place we're all equal, the voting booth."
