A beloved pet that was stolen in a carjacking Monday night was returned to its family on Tuesday. Georgia Wilson and her daughter Amaya were leaving a soccer game when they said a man stole their car. An already traumatic situation was made worse because their 4-year-old Boston Terrier Stella was in the backseat.

Stella was found Tuesday morning by Donald and Demetrice Woods who saw her running around traffic. Donald stopped his car, picked Stella up, and took her home. The Woods called the phone number on Stella's collar, leading to her return home.

"We are so excited that Stella was safely reunited with her family last night," said Georgia. "We are grateful to Mr. Woods who rescued Stella and brought her safely home to us. Our nightmare is over, and we are also very grateful to the community and the Humane Society of Louisiana that supported so much over the last few days."

"Thank you so so so so much to all who prayed for us, shared her post, sent us good energy, printed fliers, hit the ground running and spent precious time looking for her," Georgia shared in a Facebook post Tuesday night. "Stella is HOME and I am beside myself with joy."

The post continued, "She was found in New Orleans East, which is very far from home. I know she has a wild story to tell, but for now it's just snuggles for her, Amaya and I."
