Arizona is getting in the Christmas spirit.
The state's largest Christmas tree was delivered on Thursday morning to the Outlets at Anthem, where it will be for the rest of the holiday season. The 70-foot-tall tree was transported 150 miles from the California/Oregon border to the Valley on a flatbed truck.
The tree is bare right now, and it will take two weeks and nearly a dozen people to decorate it. It'll be ready in time for the tree lighting on Saturday, November 21.
Since the tree is outdoors, the outlet mall will be able to host most of its normal holiday events.
“2020 has been a tough year, but maintaining some semblance of tradition is very important to our patrons and the community – especially during the holiday season,” said JoAnn Truax, regional asset manager of Outlets at Anthem, told the Anthem Independent on October 29.
“Hosting the tallest Christmas tree in Arizona, even during a pandemic, shows we’re not giving up or giving in. Celebrations may look a little different this year as we define our ‘new normal,’ but we didn’t want to disappoint the thousands of people who make visiting the Outlets at Anthem’s tallest Christmas tree part of their family’s traditions each year.”
