Explaining that his GPS led him astray, an Amazon driver ended up stuck in a six-foot tunnel at Boulder Pointe Gold Club over the weekend.
The driver turned the wrong way down a cart path on the Oxford course on Saturday afternoon (November 7).
“Somehow he got inside the golf course and obviously he was familiar with it,” Outside Services Supervisor Bill Offer told Mlive, explaining that any initial anger melted into calm once he encountered the “shaken” driver. “He said his GPS led him there. It’s too funny. It really is."
“Not physically shaken,” Offer said. “But he had no place to go, he was between a rock and a hard place.”
Offer also added to Mlive that he spent that afternoon diverting the Amazon incident from a wedding held at the venue.
The incident cleared after about an hour and a half, after officials made calls to an Amazon supervisor, a tow truck and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Offer clarified that everyone was OK.
Boulder Pointe Golf Club offers three 9-hole courses, which golfers can mix and match to play 18 holes. The club implemented cart sanitizing procedures and additional safety measures in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
