4 Teens Charged After Florida Mom Was Run Over While Defending Son

Four teenagers are facing charges after authorities said they ran over a woman in Florida and assaulted her son. Deputies said they found the woman "critically injured" at a house in the Polk County Monday afternoon (November 9).

Officials said it started when the four teens assaulted the woman's son in their family home. When the mother arrived, she followed behind them and took photos of their van. That's when they ran her over, deputies added.

The woman was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition as of Monday. The four teens were charged with with attempted murder and burglary with assault.

There's been another incident involving vehicles in Florida recently. A man is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly ramming his car into a couples' vehicle. Video from bystanders also show him attempting to run over a woman after she got out the vehicle.

Last week, a Florida woman was found dead in a car that was submerged in Alligator Alley. Alligators surrounded the scene, making it difficult for authorities to approach the vehicle.
