Americans still intend on traveling this Thanksgiving, and Arizona is a popular destination for those hitting the road.

The travel website Tripadvisor found the top 10 destinations for the November holiday, and Sedona is the #2 destination while Scottsdale comes in at #4.

The travel platform created the list by looking at the interest in area hotels in 2020 compared to last year. Interest in Sedona grew by 50% compared to 2019 while interest in Scottsdale was up 28%.

"Recent Tripadvisor site data shows Key Largo, Fla., Sedona, Ariz., Key West, Fla. and Scottsdale, Ariz. have increased in popularity since last year's holiday and are recovering from the pandemic much faster than other U.S. travel destinations," according to a statement from Tripadvisor.

The site also found how people intend on traveling this year.

"Despite COVID-19 concerns, the majority of Americans are still traveling this Thanksgiving. The way in which consumers travel, however, will look very different from past years," said Christopher Hsi, consumer market research lead analyst for Tripadvisor. "This year, we can expect shorter trips with smaller groups of people for more intimate, close knit gatherings."

Nearly 56% of Americans said that they still plan on traveling for Thanksgiving despite the pandemic. Don't expect airports to be as packed as years past because 76% of people said that they'll drive to their destination while only 11% said they'll fly.

It is impossible to predict what the roads will look like this year because of the pandemic. The American Automobile Association releases a travel forecast a head of the holidays but didn't do so this year because of how much COVID-19 has disrupted travel, USA Today reported.
