Where does Massachusetts rank among the rudest U.S. states?
A study conducted by BestLifeOnline.com ranks Massachusetts as the seventh rudest state in America.
The website said it decided to challenge the stereotypes of "Southern hospitality, the friendliness of the Midwest, and the attitude in the Northeast."
BestLife's criteria was based on several categories including rudest cities, percentage of the state that's rude based on population percentage, percentage of rude drivers, unfriendly ranking, rude customer rank and rudeness score based on a Big 7 Travel survey that included 2.5 million social media followers.
Here's how Massachusetts scored on BestLife's survey:
- Rudest cities: Boston
- Percentage of the state that's rude: 3.1
- Percentage of rude drivers: 3.1
- Unfriendly rank: 4
- Rude customer rank: 20
- Rudeness Score: 62.13
New York topped the list of rudest states in the country, while Minnesota ranked as the least rude. The top 10 rudest states were in several different regions of the United States.
