San Antonio Spurs Unveil New Uniforms Inspired By Their 90s Warmups

The San Antonio Spurs are going old school in their latest uniform release.

The team on Friday unveiled their Fiesta-themed City Edition jersey. The uniform brings back the vibrant pink, green, and yellow that were a part of the Spurs' 90s logo. This is the first time the team jerseys have the bright Fiesta colors. In the 90s, the colors were only on the team's warm up gear.

Here's how the team described its latest look:

The new uniform features the team’s historic Fiesta colors in bold diagonal stripes ... with “San Antonio” emblazoned across the chest in old school script, the first time the team’s hometown has been front and center on a jersey since 1989. Dotting the “i” is a rowel emblem, a nod to the iconic spur logo. The jersey tag pattern on the player’s left hip is imported straight from the ‘90s – a vibrant tribal design with festive flair.

The team has been dropping hints about the new jersey on social media all week, but the surprise was already spoiled. A photo of the uniform leaked on Twitter last month.

The jersey was supposed to be released earlier this year but was delayed because of the pandemic, Spurs Zone reported.

Spurs fans who want their own jerseys will have to wait until December 3, the date they go on sale at the team's fan store.
