The Regal Theater At Fresno's Manchester Center Shut Down Thursday Night

November 13, 2020

Fresno's Regal Manchester theater on E Shields Ave at Blackstone has shut down once again.

The location officially closed as of Thursday night (November 12).

The chain's theater at Manchester Center was one of last 18 movie theaters that Regal Cinemas had left open.

After closing over 500 theaters, Regal decided to keep certain locations open across California and New York.

"In line with our previously announced strategy, Regal is temporarily suspending operations end of day Thursday at the remainder of our theaters in New York State and California until the public health and operational environment allows for the resumption of a full release slate," said Regal in a statement.

With COVID-19 cases spiking in the US, many Hollywood films have postponed production and release dates for movies that have already been filmed.

One of the last movie to have any kind of theatrical release was Christopher Nolan's Tenet.

Back in October, Regal allowed a few more theaters to remain open so customers could watch the action film on a big screen.

The company continued, "Regal will continue to monitor the situation closely in coordination with guidance from public health officials and will communicate any future plans to resume operations when key markets offer more concrete plans on their reopening status and, in turn, studios are able to bring their pipeline of major releases back to the big screen."
