Chance The Rapper honored a community organizer killed in a shooting in Nashville over the weekend.

Rasheed Walker, also known as 'Jose Hustle,' 31, was shot outside the Wireless Z store in North Nashville at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday and later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt Medical Center, FOX 17 News reports.

On Sunday, Chance sent his condolences to the family of Walker, who he said he recently named his virtual concert after.

"Sending love and gratitude to the family of Jose Hustle," Chance tweeted. "He reached out to me recently when I named my virtual concert after him. Really wish I got the chance to work with him."

Chance also mentioned the HUSTLEstrong Foundation, which is a nonprofit founded by Walker in 2015 "to back youth athletic teams to offset the cost of participation fees, providing access to positive outlets of engagement for today's youth," according to it's website.

Walker also founded the Nashville Pro-Am Basketball League, which connects area youth with college and professional basketball players, according to the league's website. He also worked as a peer tutor and mentor with the Lovelife Foundation, according to his LinkedIn account.

Metro Police told FOX 17 News a man got out of a black vehicle outside the Wireless Z store on Saturday and ran toward Walker with a rifle. The unidentified suspect shot and struck Walker as he attempted to run away.

Police are continuing to investigate Walker's murder. Anyone with information is strongly advised to contact Crime Stoppers at (615)-742-7463.
