Woman Thought She Found Decapitated Body On Florida Beach

Looks can be deceiving sometimes. A woman thought she found a decapitated body while walking on a Florida beach. Luckily, it turned out to be synthetic.

Ocean Hour, a nonprofit organization focused on cleaning beaches and educating others, posted on their Facebook page about their volunteer, Kathleen, making the strange discovery. The "body" she found on Perdido Key near Pensacola turned out to be a headless mannequin covered in barnacles and other sea life.

Another witness even called 911 over the incident, the nonprofit wrote.

“How long has she been out in the water collecting barnacles and sealife? Way too long!” the post said. “We are glad it wasn’t a real body!”

Last month, a jogger found something more real on a Naples beach -- a giant jellyfish. Stretching four feet across and laying in the sand, the man even joked that he "almost gotten eaten" by the jellyfish. Nobody knows the jellyfish's species or if it was alive or not.

Then there's the story of a Polk County deputy who responded to a report of an alligator in the shed. When he arrived, it was definitely a gator -- just not the type of gator he was expecting.
