Denver International Airport Opens Four New Gates In Gate Expansion Program

The Denver International airport opened the first four gates in its Gate Expansion Program on Friday, November 20.

To celebrate the opening, the airport held a virtual ribbon cutting on Friday morning, according to 9NEWS.

The gates are four of the 39 new gates that will be added across three concourses at the airport through its Gate Expansion Program. The first four gates opened on the west side of Concourse B.

The expansion program expects to increate gate capacity at the airport by 30 percent.

Construction is still underway for the three remaining expansion areas. According to Flydenver.com, all gates will be operational by 2022.

The four new gates in B-West include 6 new waiting areas and additional support spacing giving the area 89,247 square feet of new space.

In addition, the expansion includes 5,000 square feet of concessions space which will be used for new concession concepts and partners.

The new outdoor deck will feature a pet relief area, outdoor seating complete with fire pits and a view of the mountains.

The four gates in Concourse B-West and the gates located in Concourse B-East are all leased to United Airlines.
