A mysterious object fell from the sky and landed in a remote part of Navajo Nation on Wednesday.

The Navajo Police Department responded on an out-of-the-way part of Dennehotso in northeastern Arizona after receiving reports that something fell from the sky, department spokesperson Christina Tsosie told the Arizona Republic. Neither person or property were hurt by the object.

While this sounds like the start of a science fiction movie, the fallen object is most likely a satellite. The bigger question, however, is how it ended up in Navajo Nation.

Navajo Nation Council Delegate Nate Brown shared a photo of the object on his Facebook page. It looks like it has multiple solar panels and a bright orange parachute.

My chapter officials reported that this fell from the sky between Dennehotso abs Rock Point. Navajo Nation police did receive the report so they're checking on it right now No one was hurt.

12News speculated that the object is actually a weather balloon owned by Loon. The tech company launches balloons with cell towers attached to it to improve internet service in remote areas.

The Arizona Republic reported that the "satellite material" was released to employees of Polar Field Services, a company that provides logistics and support for expeditions in locations with extreme climates.

Neither companies responded to media inquires.

In October, a couple found a strange metal object behind their Phoenix home. It ended up being a metal panel from an airplane bathroom.
