A fire sparked in an Oregon home after two drivers crashed into it during a street race, KOMO reported.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a Beaverton police officer saw two drivers racing near Southwest 167th and Division Street at 1:14 a.m. Monday (November 23). The officer called for backup, and both police and deputies responded to the incident.

Authorities learned both vehicles crashed into a house in the 5300 block of Southwest 167th Avenue, just off Farmington Road.

Reports said 23-year-old Andrez Velasquez, of Beaverton, was driving a silver 2009 Honda Accord. An unidentified 21-year-old woman was driving a black 2010 Lexus 250. Deputies said the woman crashed into the front of the house while Velasquez crashed into the home's garage. A fire started in the garage and quickly spread to the rest of the home, officials said.

"Investigators and personnel from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue (TVF&R) worked together to quickly evacuate two people from inside the home," according to deputies. Officials added that they found a dead cat in the home. A dog was taken to a local animal hospital.

"The Lexus driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Honda was also hurt in the crash," KOMO reported.

Velasquez was booked into the Washington County Jail on multiple charges, including DUII, reckless driving, third-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, and three counts of reckless endangering.

The 21-year-old driver was cited for multiple charges because she's still in the hospital. She's facing DUII, reckless driving, second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of reckless endangering.
