Like many who watched the announcement of the 2020 Grammy Award nominations on Tuesday (November 24), Nicki Minaj had some thoughts about the shocking snubs.

Shortly after the 2021 nominees were revealed, the "Expensive" rapper took Twitter to give her take, reflecting on the year she was snubbed by the Recording Academy.

"Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation," she tweeted. "They gave it to the white man Bon Iver."

Nicki was referring to the 2012 Grammys when Bon Iver beat her and other nominees including J. Cole, The Band Perry, and Skrillex for Best New Artist.

Nicki's tweet came amidst fans' backlash over The Weeknd, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Halsey being shut out of the nominations for year's this show. Many are also upset over the fact that fan-favorites Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch's top-charting album were note nominated for Best Rap Album.

Nicki's tweet also came more than a year after she claimed she was mistreated by the Recording Academy. "I was bullied into staying quiet for 7 years out of fear," she wrote on Twitter back in February 2019. "Also, CONGRATS to everyone who won last night."

While Nicki has been nominated for a Grammy ten times, she has yet to walk away with a trophy.
