Some people are always looking for the special someone. The coronavirus pandemic sure hasn't made the hunt for love any easier for single people. Plus, dating tends to be expensive depending on where you live. So, which American cities make it easier or more difficult to find a partner?

WalletHub, a personal finance website, set out to answer that question. The website published an article Tuesday (December 1) looking at over 180 U.S. cities "across 32 key indicators of dating-friendliness. Our data set ranges from the share of the population that is single to the number of online dating opportunities to the average price for a two-person meal," Adam McCann wrote.

What about Miami? Well, the Magic City ranked at No. 77 overall among 182 other cities. According to the list, Miami is No. 1 when it comes to "Fun & Recreation." The South Florida city ranked much lower in the "Dating Opportunities" and "Economics," or how much you're spending on a date.

The Sunshine State is getting some representation across the list; ten more Florida cities were also featured. Fort Lauderdale was the highest-rated among them at No. 20. Below are the other cities:

  • Tallahassee (No. 23)
  • Tampa (No. 46)
  • Jacksonville (No. 59)
  • St. Petersburg (No. 63)
  • Orlando (No. 83)
  • Port St. Lucie (No. 114)
  • Cape Coral (No. 145)
  • Hialeah (No. 177)
  • Pembroke Pines (No. 180)

WalletHub also noted that online dating makes things easier in the wake of lockdowns and limited activities. Make what you will with this information and plan that next date, if you're looking!
