A tractor-trailer carrying Amazon packages reportedly rolled over on a highway in North Attleboro, Massachusetts late Thursday (December 4) night.

The cargo truck crashed on I-95 North at Exit 5 around 11:45 p.m., WPRI reports. Witnesses spotted the truck over the guardrail, which caused at least one lane to close as crews worked to clear the scene.

The driver of the cargo truck was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, but the severity of the injuries is unknown as of Friday afternoon. Police are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.

Two years ago, a truck carrying Amazon packages crashed on the Massachusetts turnpike, leaving items scattered all over the roadway, WHDH reports.

The crash occurred on a stretch of highway in Lee. Troopers responded to the scene after receiving a reported crash involving a badly damaged box truck that rolled over and left items dumped everywhere, state police told WHDH. No serious injuries were reported at the time of the crash.

"#MAtraffic Crash, I-90 #MassPike, Interchange 2 in #Lee," Massachusetts State Police tweeted at the time of the 2018 crash. "No serious injuries. On and off ramps to the exit are closed for cleanup."

In 2019, Amazon's delivery network delivered more than 3.5 billion customer packages globally, according to a press release.
