Man Cheated On Girlfriend, Tells Police He Blames Her For Damaged Apartment

An Omaha man who has been cheating on his girlfriend blamed her for for the damage when he found his apartment trashed around midnight.

The man, 20, arrived to find, among the wreckage: his clothes strewn in the bathtub and soaked in bleach and baby powder; bleach was doused over his $100 shoes; baby diapers littered the bedroom; mirrors were broken; a Christmas tree was toppled over; and the man’s dog, PlayStation 4 and katana swords were nowhere to be found, the Omaha World-Herald reported Friday (December 4). Damage added up to about $1,620.

The man opted to call law enforcement to the scene, around 72nd and Maple Streets in Omaha.

When he reported the incident to the police department, the man pointed to his girlfriend as the possible culprit.

Around 5:30 p.m. Thursday (December 3), the man told police, he left the apartment when an argument got heated. The dispute sparked because he had been cheating on her with a mutual friend, according to the World-Herald. The man returned to the ramshackle apartment around midnight, and suspected her of causing the mess.

Omaha Police Department officers told the man to sleep elsewhere, according to the World-Herald.
