Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas had a baby boom in November.
The hospital said that 171 newborns were born last month, which is higher than normal.
"In the midst of all the unknown right now, we are certain about one thing and that is bringing a new life into the world is a beautiful thing," Women's Services Director at Southern Hills Hospital Kristin Boyle told KNTV.
These babies were conceived before the pandemic. It's unlikely that the hospital will see another record-breaking month since it's also seeing stress-related fertility changes and more woman seeking long-term birth control options.
Despite jokes that they'll be more kids later because adults are currently stuck at home with little to do, the U.S. may actually be heading towards a baby bust. The Brookings Institute predicts that between 300,000 to 500,000 fewer children will be born next year because of the pandemic and related economic insecurity.
Because of "un-family-friendly conditions," nearly one-third of women have decided to have few children or delay having children because of the pandemic, Quartz reported.
