Denver is expected to be one of the country's hottest housing markets next year, according to a new study.

The economics team at Realtor.com has analyzed recent data and trends to put together a list of the nation's top markets of 2021.

To rank the list, the team factored in past sale prices, the number of sales, and the rate of new construction.

They also took into account the previous and anticipated economic, household, and income growth in the 100 largest metropolitan areas.

In short, the ten cities that made this list are experiencing rapid gentrification.

All of the markets on the list are expected to experience higher price growth and more sales compared to the rest of the country.

Coming in at number nine is Denver, Colorado.

Despite the city's growing tech industry, Denver has managed to hang on to its "Western charm."

With world-class dining, entertainment, a thriving arts scene, and some of the best ski resorts in the country, there's something for everyone.

"Denver is cheaper than California, and a lot of people from California are going to Denver for that affordability," says Realtor.com's Chief Economist Danielle Hale.

Rising prices have seen buyers head out to the suburbs of nearby cities like Boulder and Fort Collins.
