A second anonymous donor has added $5,000 to a reward for finding the person responsible for killing a 26-year-old Nashville nurse last week. The additional reward comes one day after a local man wishing to remain anonymous offered $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Caitlyn Kaufman's killer.

Kaufman was shot and killed on December 3 as she drove along Interstate 440 on her way to begin a shift in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Thomas Hospital West, where she had worked for two years.

"Those who knew Caitlyn Kaufman witnessed the overwhelming compassion and kindness she showed for each person she cared for and worked alongside during her 2 years in Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West's ICU," the hospital said in a statement. "Every life she touched was warmed by her smile and gracious spirit. Caitlyn loved her patients and was so proud to serve alongside the other selfless caregivers in her unit."

Kaufman's mother, Diane, said her daughter was living her dream of working as a nurse in Nashville. Earlier in the week, she urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help give her family closure.

"She was on her way to work to help other people," she said. "All I'm asking is that the Nashville community that she loved so much come together and help [find] who killed her."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Kaufman's family. As of Wednesday, it has raised more than $34,000.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident or anyone driving along I-440 around that time contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME. Crime Stoppers is also offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
