Nixta Taqueria opened last year, and it could be the best new restaurant in the country.
USA Today nominated Chef Edgar Ulysses Rico’s Austin restaurant as part of the network’s 10Best Reader’s Choice awards. Earlier this year, the taqueria was included in Texas Monthly's Tacopedia.
Readers can vote online for their favorite restaurant once each day through December 21 at noon ET. The top 10 winners will be announced on December 31., according to USA Today.
“Someday, we'll all be ready to pack our suitcases again and head out on our next adventures. In the meantime, we'll keep supporting the places that inspire us,” the USA Today explains, introducing the best restaurant nominees. “The United States is home to more than a million different restaurants, according to the National Restaurant Association, with hundreds of new options opening up each year.”
“We asked a panel of food and travel experts to nominate their 20 favorite new restaurants to open in the past 18 months, ranging from chef-driven fast casual concepts to high end dining with a focus on hyper-local and sustainable ingredients,” the USA Today network continued.
