Ellen DeGeneres Show employees claim the program is losing viewers, sponsors, and celebrity guests due to past allegations of sexual harassment and a toxic workplace behind the scenes.

It’s only been two months since Ellen DeGeneres returned to the small screen following a tumultuous summer rife with accusations of the unkind conduct she displays when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Several sources “with knowledge of the situation” told BuzzFeed News that Ellen’s show has yet to fully recover from the bad press, which has reportedly contributed to the show's decline in viewership, ad funds and has made “securing its usual A-list celebrities” difficult.

One anonymous Ellen Show employee said that, due to a decrease in advertisers, the show hasn’t been able to produce as much new content and is resorting to recycling old clips from past seasons.

“For the first time, everyone was starting to ask us, ‘If you have an idea, tell us because we will listen. If you have an idea for a celeb, even if they’re not A-list or famous, we’ll take anyone who will bring us numbers and eyeballs,’” the employee said. “That’s when they started to be real with us and essentially said, ‘Give us anything because we need help.’ Our old strategy doesn’t work anymore.”

What’s more, one anonymous publicist told the outlet they aren’t booking as many of their clients for the daytime talk show, even though Justin Bieber, Jimmy Kimmel, and members of the Kardashian/Jenner family have all made appearances on the show's new season.

"I wouldn’t set up anyone on her show right now to do anything that could possibly cause them more negative headlines," an anonymous industry publicist told BuzzFeed News. "You have to tread so carefully with your clients and your clients’ reputations, so you don't want to put your client in any line of fire sympathizing with someone that any community or anyone would feel bad about. We’re not going to align anyone with Ellen."
