New Year Fireworks Light Up Over The Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced that they will be blowing 2020 away to welcome the new year.

LVCVA will celebrate the riddance of this trial-filled year by blowing up a 2020 sign via livestream, reports Fox 5.

Instead of lining the Las Vegas Strip, those who choose to watch can log on to visitlasvegas.com as well as the Vegas Facebook page or Youtube channel.

LVCVA president and CEO Steve Hill said, "We know that celebrating New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas is a bucket list item and a long-held tradition. Although many visitors from around the country and the world will not be able to join us in person to turn the calendar, this virtual event will allow us to share our enthusiasm and excitement with Vegas fans near and far as we look toward a brighter 2021."

The event will not be open in person to the public due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The event will be livestreamed on December 31st as the city counts down to midnight with a live DJ.

LVCVA previously announced that there would be no usual New Year's fireworks show on the Las Vegas Strip due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
