A Massachusetts family was rewarded for spreading the most holiday cheer.

The Fiore family, of Wilmington, won ABC's 'The Great Christmas Light Fight,' which rewards $50,000 and "the coveted Light Fight Trophy" to families with the most extreme Christmas decorations weekly, Patch.com reports.

Charles Fiore, 23, said he began creating Christmas light displays 16 years ago and decided to recruit his family and friends for the ABC contest, which was filmed last year and aired on Wednesday (December 9) night.

“This is one of the best moments of my life,” Fiore told Patch.

The Fiore family competed with families from Utah, Missouri and New York for the chance to win $50,000 and the "Light Fight Trophy."

Fiore told Patch he could tell his displays were special once he noticed others stopping by to see the attractions.

"Once people started coming to look at them, I enjoyed seeing their reactions," Fiore said. "I wanted to make a big display for people to enjoy."

Fiore's display was featured in a CBS Boston report in December 2018 and caught the attention of an ABC recruiter who suggested he apply for the show. The 23-year-old said his Christmas display is inspired by "The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights" at Disney World, which he visited on Christmas Day 2012.

Fiore said he was assisted by his brother Jonas, as well as friends Wesley Moreira and Jason Donahue of Tewksbury, and Joshua Rizzo of Wilmington.
