Christmas is just around the corner and with it comes special sugary treats and desserts that taste like holiday cheer.

Like other holiday traditions, special holiday treats seem to be more popular among certain audiences depending on what state they live in.

The career website Zippia analyzed Goole searches to find out just what each state enjoys the most during the holiday season.

So what do Utah residents get a sweet tooth for during the holidays?

Utah's favorite holiday treat was determined to be Jolly Ranchers. Is this even a Christmas treat? Perhaps Utahns are turning them into candy ornaments.

Utah wasn't the only state that chose an everyday candy as their favorite Christmas treats. Washington loved skittles and Wisconsin searched for Andes peppermint.

What did Utah's other neighbors love? Colorado searched for gingerbread cake, Idaho searched for candy canes, Wyoming searched for Egg nog, Arizona searched for hot chocolate, and Nevada searched for cheesecake.

The study shows that 20 states loved cake-based desserts, 12 wanted candy options, and 10 chose some kind of cookie.

Nine states love to indulge in cheesecake during the holidays.

To determine the findings, Zippia used Google trends. The site examined over 40 Christmas classics and determined what treat was searched the most in each state.
