Gov. Mike DeWine detailed 10 COVID-19 protocols to follow in hopes of mitigating the spread as Ohio faces a critical moment in the pandemic.

DeWine said Ohio is headed into the “most important three weeks” of the pandemic.

The Ohio Department of Health has tracked 531,850 total cases and nearly 7,300 total deaths as of Thursday (December 9).

Officials opted to extend the 10 p.m. curfew to January 2, though the Ohio Department of Health issued a variance for the Columbus Crew MLS championship game, the Browns vs. Ravens and Bengals vs. Steelers games and the anticipated UC Conference Championship football game, the governor tweeted Thursday.

DeWine worked with health experts to develop the new Stay Safe Ohio protocols.

“I am not a medical expert, and so I am guided by the advice and expertise of the scientists — the medical doctors and health experts who base their advice on facts and evidence,” DeWine said in a tweet Thursday. “I have asked for their help and guidance in developing a statewide protocol for each of us to follow in these vitally important next 21 days. These are sensible steps that we can all follow — and still be able to live our lives.”

Here are the 10 Stay Safe Ohio protocols:

  1. Stay at home
  2. Wear your mask
  3. Keep interactions short and stay apart
  4. Wash your hands
  5. Work from home
  6. Celebrate safe, celebrate small
  7. Don’t eat or drink with anyone outside your household
  8. Limit travel
  9. Keep weddings and funerals safe
