Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins escaped to the beaches of Cabo San Lucas in Mexico a few weeks ahead of Christmas.
On Sunday (December 13), the country singer turned to Instagram to share a few photos from their getaway with fans, starting with an adorable shot of the couple sharing a kiss out on the water. Rhett also shared a photo of himself showing off a large Mahi Mahi he caught, a breathtaking sunset snap on the water, and a photo of a sea lion poking its head out of the ocean.
"Thanks for the good times Cabo @laur_akins," Rhett wrote alongside the collection of photos.
Before the trip, the couple and their daughters, Willa Gray, 5, Ada James, 3, and Lennon Love, 9-months, were busy preparing for the holidays.
On December 2, Lauren turned to Instagram to document the family's visit to a local Christmas tree farm, sharing an adorable family selfie. The photo shows the whole family bundled up in their coats and winter hats with Rhett holding Lennon Love and Lauren holding Willa Gray and Ada James.
"Weeee gottt onnneee," she captioned the photo, adding "officially it's the most wonderful time of the year."
The festive family outing was just days after Rhett and Lauren co-hosted this year's annual CMA Country Christmas special. The special, which aired on November 30, featured performances from some of country music's biggest stars including Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Gabby Barrett, Tim McGraw , and Darius Rucker with violinist and singer-songwriter, Lindsey Stirling.
In addition to his co-hosting duties, Rhett also performed his original Christmas song, "Christmas In The Country."
"I’m performing a song that I released last Christmas called ‘Christmas In The Country,’ and I wrote it because we spend all of our Christmases out at our farm and it truly is very magical," Rhett shared ahead of his performance. "We get to see the barn lit up, we put a big Christmas tree in the barn and everything that song says is very autobiographical to what our Christmas looks like, we just love Christmas time and love getting to spend it in the country."
Following the big show, Rhett turned to social media to entertain fans even more, sharing a hilarious blooper reel from filming. "@laur_akins and I had a time filming #CMAchristmas," he wrote alongside the clip.
Fans who missed this year's CMA Country Christmas special can watch via On Demand or Hulu through December 10.
