Dakota Johnson's New Ring Sparks Chris Martin Engagement Rumors

Are Dakota Jonson and Chris Martin heading down the aisle? Well, it seems that way after photographers spotted the actress wearing a massive ring on her wedding finger.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the Fifty Shades of Grey star, 31, was seen rocking an emerald green stone on her ring finger while shopping last week in West Hollywood. Wearing a long fur coat, joggers, sunglasses and a face mask, the star was snapped talking on her cell phone, which put the ring (and her fresh manicure) on display. Back in March, Johnson and Martin, 43, were spotted enjoying a date night in Los Angeles, with follow-up trips to Malibu and the Hamptons.

The stars have been dating one another since late 2017 and made an effort to keep their relationship on the down-low. In fact, it was her mother, Melanie Griffith, who seemingly confirmed their romance in 2018. The two reportedly split in 2019, which came as a surprise to their inner circle. "There was talk of engagement but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone," an insider told The Sun in June 2019. However, it was Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow to credit for their reunion.

"I love her," Paltrow said of Dakota in the February issue of Harper's Bazaar. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There's so much juice in leaning in to something like that."
