Here's How Much Television Arizona Residents Watch Every Day

With massive amounts of streaming services and television providers, shows and movies are easier than ever to watch.

But just how much television do Arizona residents watch?

VerizonSpecials.com conducted a study to determine which states watched the most TV, and Arizona was in the middle of the pack.

Arizona was 28th overall with an average of 3 hours and 33 minutes of TV watched per day. The most searched TV genre in Arizona was the news.

Here are the top ten states that watched TV the most and their average daily watch times:

1. Mississippi- 4 hours and 22 minutes
2. Arkansas- 4 hours and 20 minutes
3. West Virginia- 4 hours and 18 minutes
4. Alabama- 4 hours and 16 minutes
5. Louisiana- 4 hours and 7 minutes
6. Rhode Island- 4 hours and 2 minutes
7. Kentucky- 3 hours and 52 minutes
8. Nevada- 3 hours and 51 minutes
9. Georgia- 3 hours and 49 minutes
10. Michigan- 3 hours and 46 minutes

Here are the states that watched TV the least and their average daily watch time (number 1 was the least-watched):

1. Alaska- 2 hours and 38 minutes
2. Utah- 2 hours and 54 minutes
3. Idaho- 3 hours and 5 minutes
4. Minnesota- 3 hours and 6 minutes
5. Washington- 3 hours and 9 minutes
6. New Mexico- 3 hours and 12 minutes
7. California- 3 hours and 13 minutes
8. Montana- 3 hours and 15 minutes
9. Oregon- 3 hours and 15 minutes
10. Colorado- 3 hours and 16 minutes

The study found that Americans watched, on average, 17% more TV this year than last year. ESPN was the most-searched TV genre among all fifty states, including Washington, D.C.

To determine the findings, the website compared TV watch time data from the most recent American Time Use Survey from 2015-2019. The genres were found using Google Trends data.
