Sam Hunt has been indicted in Nashville in connection with his 2019 arrest on DUI charges.
According to The Tennessean, the country star was indicted by a Davidson County jury, and he will face DUI charges and an open container violation.
Hunt's arrest took place on November 21, 2019 by Metro Nashville police, after he was accused of driving the wrong way on Ellington Parkway in the early morning hours before eventually exiting. No one was hurt, however drivers on the road had called in to emergency services with concern, describing the SUV driving on the wrong side, while another person said they were almost hit "head on."
The Tennessean also reports that after performing sobriety tests, an arrest affidavit said that Hunt's blood alcohol level was 0.173, which is over the legal limit (0.08).
After the incident, Sam took to social media to take responsibility and apologize, explaining that he made a "poor and selfish decision" to drive home after having some drinks in downtown Nashville while at a friend's show. He tweeted, "Wednesday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend’s show in downtown Nashville. It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again."
