The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is among the Cleveland organizations slated to receive local project funding as part of a state capital budget bill.

The bill was introduced Tuesday (December 15), according to cleveland.com. It was inserted into Senate Bill 310, which was introduced earlier this year and aims to provide federal COVID-19 funding to local subdivisions, according to the legislature.

The capital budget bill allocates $171.4 million to fund local projects statewide.

Of that, $23.8 million goes to Cuyahoga County projects — some of which the Greater Cleveland Partnership has recommended — including a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame expansion for $1.75 million.

Other projects on the list include a Cleveland Museum of Natural History expansion for $2.25 million, a redevelopment plan for Tower City for $2 million, and a new Cuyahoga County addiction treatment center for $1 million.

The capital projects list, broken down by county, also includes the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Village of Chagrin Falls Riverside Park Walking Path, Severance Hall, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, improvements to the Playhouse Square Connor Palace Theatre and other projects.

“The state has been a big supporter of a lot of important initiatives in Northeast Ohio over a number of General Assemblies,” Marty McGann, the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s executive vice president for advocacy and strategy said.
