Another university basketball team has paused all team-related activities due to coronavirus. The Duke University women's basketball team halted its program after reporting two positive COVID-19 tests to allow for precautionary contact tracing measures, the team announced Wednesday (December 16).

According to the team's website, two members of the travel party tested positive for COVID-19. Their identities have not been release, nor has it been confirmed if they were players. The university said it is adhering to the protocols outlined in the Atlantic Coast Conference Medical Advisory Group report.

Due to the pause, the team had to postpone two upcoming games, the December 20 matchup against NC State and December 22 against UNC Wilmington. The team currently has a 3-1 record for Head Coach Kara Lawson's first season.

Two days after Duke's loss to Louisville on December 9, the Cardinals postponed their home game against North Carolina due to positive tests in the program, ESPN reports.

Duke University joins a growing list of colleges postponing sports-related activities due to coronavirus.

Earlier this month, the men's NC State basketball team halted its program after multiple positive COVID-19 tests were reported among its travel party. The team canceled or postponed four games but will resume play on Thursday (December 17) in a matchup against Saint Louis.
